Glenn ‘Kane’ Jacobs Reportedly Wins Republican Primary For Mayor

As it was noted earlier, today was a big day for WWE Superstar Glenn ‘Kane’ Jacobs in his bid for the Mayor’s Office of Knox County, Tennessee with the voting polls officially opening.

According to the ABC affiliate WATE-ABC 6 this evening, Glenn Jacobs has won reportedly the Knox County Mayor Republican Primary by 17 votes. Right now, all precincts are said to have been reported, however it’s not a done deal just yet. It should be noted that it will not be made official until next week and the Knox County Election Commission says there are also “a few provisional ballots”. Should Jacobs be announced as the official winner, he would be opposed by former Knox County Democratic Party Chair Linda Haney.

Below are the reported number of votes received by each candidate for both the Republican and Democratic Primaries:

Republican Primary – 100% Reporting
Glenn Jacobs – 14,633
Brad Anders – 14,616
Bob Thomas – 11,296

Democratic Primary – 98% Reporting
Linda Haney – 4,260
Rhonda Gallman – 1,912
Rebecca Deloa – 1,441

EA’s Take: Politics certainly isn’t something we get into here at The Chairshot. Unless Greg has some plans I’m not aware of! However, I found these voting numbers to be interesting. Clearly, it’s dominated by the Republicans and if these numbers are any indication AND Jacobs is officially announced as the winner, one could surmise he’ll likely walk away with the win.
