PROGRESS News: WWE NXT Superstar To Challenge For Women’s Title

The next big event set for the United Kingdom’s PROGRESS Wrestling is just around the corner, as Chapter 71 takes place on June 10th from the O2 Academy in Sheffield, England. Recently, we’ve seen WWE reportedly making plays for a number of talents that work for and with PROGRESS (which you can check out here) and it was also rumored that PROGRESS, as well as Insane Championship Wrestling content, could be coming to the WWE Network (find that story here).

It looks like a working relationship is continuing between WWE and PROGRESS after new PROGRESS Women’s Champion Jinny Couture issued an open challenge for anyone across the world to face her for the title at Chapter 71 after just winning the strap at Chapter 69 (for results, go here). That call appears to have been answered today by NXT Superstar Steffanie Newell, formerly known as Nixon Newell, who will be making her PROGRESS return for the match:
