UFC News: More Details On UFC Deal With ESPN, FOX Still In Play
Following yesterday’s big news that the UFC has come to an agreement to air programming on ESPN+ (which you can find here), as well as other ESPN networks, more details have now been revealed. According to SportsBusinessDaily, ESPN will be paying $150 million over the course of five years for the content, but a television broadcast contract has still yet to be reached.
Currently, UFC has a deal with FOX that will expire this December, but have been in ongoing talks with the network about staying. It’s also previously been reported that there could be some kind of partnership between FOX and ESPN to split UFC programming (which you can check out here). Additionally, UFC has also been in talks with NBC Universal for a television deal.
UFC previously had an opening where they were the only ones who could negotiate with FOX, however that has since closed, giving WWE the opportunity to possibly make a move away from NBC.
