WWE Backlash Results: United States Championship

After two straight championship matches on the line to begin WWE Backlash, another was was up for grabs as Randy Orton challenged Jeff Hardy for the United States Title. Both fan favorites were able to get in offense, but it was clear ‘The Viper’ would be much more aggressive on this night, dropping Hardy spine-first on top of the guardrail multiple times. The crowd really fell out of this one with “Rusev Day” chants breaking out as the challenger slowed the pace down. Orton dominated the entire match, ultimately getting surprised by a Twist Of Fate, followed by a Swanton Bomb seemingly “out of nowhere”, giving Hardy the 1-2-3.
