WWE News: Reported Attendance For Backlash
With WWE Backlash taking place last night, the attendance numbers for the event at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey are now in. According to multiple sources, the show drew 14,724, which is down from the WWE’s previous pay-per-view in the same building, 2016’s RAW-exclusive event Extreme Rules, which pulled in 15,963.
The Backlash card’s top featured matches were Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe and AJ Styles defending the WWE Title against Shinsuke Nakamura in a No Disqualification Match. It was also the WWE’s foray back into dual-branded PPV events. Extreme Rules 2016 was headlined by Styles challenging Reigns for the WWE Championship, as well as a Charlotte vs. Natalya for the Women’s Title and a Fatal 4-Way Intercontinental Championship that featured The Miz, Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
