WWE News: Big Cass Removed From MITB Qualifier, Replacement Announced

Over the weekend while the WWE was finishing off its final dates of the European Tour, a number of rumors began surfacing that SmackDown Live Superstar Big Cass may have re-injured his surgically repaired knee (check that story out here). It was later revealed by fans who attended other shows on the tour that Cass had been favoring his leg throughout the week, selling the beating he took from Daniel Bryan on the blue brand’s episode last Tuesday (you can find that here).

Today, SmackDown Live General Manager Paige has announced that due to his “injury”, Cass will not be able to compete in his scheduled Money In The Bank Qualifying Match against United States Champion Jeff Hardy. Therefore, Daniel Bryan will be taking his place and the winner will face Samoa Joe next week for a chance to qualify instead:

Due to @BigCassWWE injury, @WWEDanielBryan will face @JEFFHARDYBRAND tomorrow night on #SDLive in a second chance match…

The winner will face @SamoaJoe NEXT WEEK for an opportunity to qualify and enter the Men’s #MITB Ladder Match.

EA’s Take: Now, let’s all follow the dots children. Bryan attacked Cass’ leg last week on SmackDown Live. Big Cass subsequently favored said leg at every show after, but still competed in the ring. He has now been removed from his chance at getting into the MITB Ladder Match and been replaced by the man who “injured” him. Do I really need to spell this out for you any more than that? Expect Cass to cost Bryan the match against either Hardy tomorrow or Samoa Joe next week.
