WWE News: Paige Talks About Her Career Ending Injury

After being forced into retirement due to an injury, multi-time WWE Divas Champion Paige was of course announced as the new SmackDown Live General Manager just one day after stating she could no longer perform. While it’s been no secret Paige has suffered from neck issues which caused her to have surgery, she has never really disclosed details on the situation. That is until now, as Paige was the guest on the latest episode of Edge & Christian Pod Of Awesomeness, finally discussing it:

“When the accident happened in the ring, I lost all feeling in my legs and my arms. It was literally the most terrifying experience of my life and I never wish that upon anyone. It was so scary. I literally thought, ‘I’m done. I’m going to be in a wheelchair now. This is it. I pushed myself too much.’ I really did. I feel like I pushed myself too hard to the point where my body was done.”

Edge & Christian would go on to warn Paige that members of the WWE Universe will always clamor for one more match, as Edge recently went through this when Daniel Bryan returned from injury. To this, Paige said the following:

“No guys. My doctor said maybe in 15-20 years time; but, I don’t think I want to wrestle in 15-20 years time.”
