As we’ve noted, today the WWE’s presence was felt at Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the annual NBC Upfronts, a presentation for the network to promote and announce their Fall programming. In attendance were WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon, John Cena, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Ronda Rousey and RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax.

There was some interesting interaction between Jax and Rousey, as ‘The Irresistible Force’ challenged Ronda to a match at Money In The Bank on June 17th with the title on the line. ‘Rowdy’ Ronda would accept:

They set up Ronda Rousey's next match at today's NBC Upfront presentation, against Nia Jax. We can report that the match is scheduled for Money in the Bank on 6/17.

WWE has now made the match official:

EA’s Take: While other sites ran with this early in my opinion, we like to make sure we’re correct here at The Chairshot, rather than being first. All the initial reports were based off of John Pollock’s tweet, but WWE or anyone else that I consider to be credible hadn’t even mentioned it. Therefore, waiting was the best policy here just in case Nia and Ronda were just going “off the cuff”. Now that it’s official, you have to wonder…is it too soon? WWE told us that Rousey wouldn’t be pushed right to the title picture, but now that’s what they’re doing after she’s only had one match. Perhaps this is a ratings ploy since the numbers have been so poor lately? I think it will be VERY interesting to see how this plays out.
