WWE News: WWE Suing Foreign Television Distributor
According to a new report today by ProWrestlingSheet, WWE is suing the foreign television distributor, Transworld Television, in the amount of $337,142.98, plus interest and legal fees. Documents were filed today on behalf of the WWE, who is claiming that Transworld is withholding payments to the company. It’s being said that WWE sent multiple notifications to Transworld in the form on invoices and emails, only to get no response.
The two companies reportedly had an agreement that gave Transworld the rights to look for TV licensing deals for the WWE in specific parts of the world, however this required Transworld also collect and pay portions to WWE. World Wrestling Entertainment is claiming that Transworld TV entered into a similar agreement back in 2014 for another party to license WWE programming to the Middle East and Africa. WWE is alleging that they only received three payments in 2017 from that arrangement.
