WWE Rumors: Will There Be Three MITB Ladder Matches?
With the WWE plowing ahead towards its next pay-per-view event after last night’s Backlash, Money In The Bank is already becoming a hot topic among members of the WWE Universe. Last year’s event was a SmackDown Live exclusive, but with the company shifting back to all dual-branded pay-per-views, discussion around how WWE will handle its Money In The Bank Ladder Matches has already begun.
Today, WrestlingInc is speculating that we could be seeing three Money In The Bank matches, posting the following image on Instagram:
EA’s Take: I wasn’t able to find this image anywhere other than WrestlingInc, so I’m not sure yet. I bet we’ll know more tonight on RAW. As for the idea of it, I am not a fan. It makes no sense to me why you’d go to dual-branded PPVs and not make a dual-branded MITB Ladder Match…for both the men and women. I’ve felt this was how MITB should have been handled since the brand split and I’m sure there are some old podcast episodes where I’ve gone into detail on why that should be the case. Every time WWE comes up with a gimmick match that we enjoy, they begin to beat us to death with it and it loses that special feeling. Hell In A Cell, Money In The Bank, TLC and more recently, the Royal Rumble. Additionally, why would we do (what seems to be) separate MITB matches for the men, but not the women? On the heels of the Greatest Royal Rumble and the ladies being excluded, plus the sentiment of the majority of fans about it, you’re making that call? I sure wouldn’t. If you’re going with three (which I again, do NOT agree with), then make that third a dual-branded Tag Team MITB, but it really should be two max.
