WWE Rumors: Match Official For NXT TakeOver, Another Changed Due To MITB?

The rivalry between Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch and Pete Dunne with The Undisputed Era has been heating up recently on WWE NXT, which began after Roderick Strong turned on Dunne back at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. Today, WWE announced that Strong and fellow Undisputed Era member Kyle O’Reilly will be defending their NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II, set to take place the night before Money In The Bank on June 16th.

Additionally, it appears as if another match may have been altered due to Money In The Bank plans. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original idea for the next installment of Johnny Gargano vs. Tomasso Ciampa at TakeOver was for it to be a Last Man Standing match. Of course, this week’s SmackDown Live saw Shinsuke Nakamura reveal his stipulation choice for his Money In The Bank match against AJ Styles for the WWE Title to be Last Man Standing, thus leading to a change for Gargano vs. Ciampa.

EA’s Take: Whenever I post something labeled as “Rumors”, I always try to debunk it to the best of my ability. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can in this case because it very well could be true. Last Man Standing makes sense for the Nakamura/Styles match, but at the same time it also does for Gargano/Ciampa. I’m interested to see where they go with it now after their last TakeOver match was “Unsanctioned”, essentially an Extreme Rules match. This is the “scene of the crime” for those two, the same building where it all started a year ago. Therefore, I’m anticipating another classic no matter what the stipulation is.
