Big Rick’s 2018 WWE Money In The Bank Review
Roman Reigns vs Jinder Mahal
I will always say this on my show. If you Mute the TV and watch Romans matches, they are not that bad! The problem is, most of the Internet Wrestling Community are trained by other members of the IWC to hate Roman no matter what type of performance he puts out. It is a lose-lose situation for Roman. Hell, I’m convinced they don’t even watch his match. They are too busy throwing boo’s out, doing the wave, going to the bathroom, and playing with beach balls. I understand you paid your money and all that blah blah bull junk, but give the guys some respect even if your IWC pals say you shouldn’t. Here is a better idea, THINK FOR YOURSELVES! Roman Reigns is the guy for the next 10 years. Get used to seeing him, oh and by the way Vince knows what type of reaction Roman is going to get, but guess what, He doesn’t care. Why? Because he already has your $!!! As far as Jinder, He is slowly improving. He is much better in the ring now than he was when he held the WWE Title. This match was pretty good. Better than some of the other matches on this card. Thumbs up from me.
Carmella vs Asuka
This match was what it was. I have to ask myself though, is Asuka important anymore? Losing her undefeated streak to Charlotte at WrestleMania now seems like a total waste after seeing how Charlotte has been used! Is Asuka just an afterthought now? Sure seems like it to me. As far as Carmella, I understand what WWE sees in Carmella, great heel! Old School Heel. You need heels like this in today’s business. Very rare you have a heel that gets a negative reaction from 90% of your crowd. That’s what Carmella gets. What better way to draw even more heat pn Carmella than to have her pin Charlotte and Asuka in the middle of the ring within 6 weeks? Oh I know, have James Ellsworth return to help her defeat Asuka. With James back by Carmella’s side, there is no stopping this duo and when it does happen, it better be good and it better be the right woman! Until them, let Carmella and James do their thing and draw as much heat as possible.

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura
These two athletes have been going at each other for years and years. The dream match we all wanted to see inside a WWE ring…..Until we finally saw it. Then we wanted to take it back. The problem with the first match at WrestleMania, is there was no backbone to the build up. Good guy vs good guy. That’s not what I wanted to see, but for what we got at Mania, it wasn’t as bad as everyone said it was. So let us fast forward to Money in the Bank. We actually have a storyline. Some meat on the bone. A good guy and a bad guy. Which is how I like my wrestling. When I first heard this was going to be a “Last Man Standing Match” all I could do was put my head down in disappointment. Why you ask? I hate last man standing matches. The dreaded slow counts to 10….over and over again, it’s enough to make me want to change the channel, but this match, this match did not disappoint one bit. This was the best of the WWE’s series of matches from AJ and Shinsuke. Many of us had Shinsuke winning, but AJ stood tall at the end
of the night holding up the WWE Title and once again proving why he is deserving of that Championship. Both men put on a fantastic performance. I’m excited to see where both men go from here!
Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax
As previously stated in my AJ/SN article, talk about no build for a match. That is what we got here. A random challenge thrown out to Ronda from Nia with no explanation as to why! The one thing I look forward to in my build up’s are physicality, the one thing this lacked until the go home episode of Raw. Although looking back, I honestly feel this match did not need a physical build up. Ronda being involved alone was enough for me. A lot of fans are complaining that Ronda is getting a title shot on her first singles match, crying and whining, what’s new? Again, just enjoy the show. Enjoy the publicity Ronda brings to the WWE, enjoy her athleticism, enjoy her in a skirt while she walks down to the ring. This match did NOT disappoint. I am not at all shocked at how quickly Ronda is picking up on wrestling. Let’s not forget she is a bronze Olympic medalist, and a UFC Hall of Famer….She is an athlete. Want another example? Kurt Angle. If anything, I would be disappointed if she didn’t pick up wrestling this fast. Ronda showed her ass during this match and earned the respect of a lot wrestling fans around the
country. As far as Nia Jax, Yes, this was her best match thus far in the WWE, but I personally give more credit to how dominant Ronda made her look than I do Nia. Nia as a character wasn’t doing anything for me nor anyone else. Overall, this was a great match and I am looking forward to seeing more Ronda in the WWE.
Alexa Bliss cashes in her MITB Briefcase
Right when we as the WWE Universe thought Nia was going to tap out to Ronda and we were going to see a new Raw Women’s Champ…Out comes Alexa Bliss to cash in her Money in the Bank contract. Alexa beat the hell out of Ronda with that briefcase. Alexa made sure that Ronda wasn’t going to be a factor in her attempt to regain the Raw Women’s Championship. Alexa did a fantastic job as making sure that wasn’t going to happen as Ronda was out cold on the outside. Alexa cashes in and defeats Nia JAx to become the New Raw Women’s Champion. The title is back home where it belongs, around the waist of the Goddess among Women, Alexa Bliss. I did not expect this to happen, nor did anyone else! If they did , they are lying. I never saw one prediction of Alexa winning the contract and cashing in the same night. This was pure genius by WWE. It’s obvious they still have a lot of faith in Alexa and believe in her to carry this Woman’s division. One of the most unexpected cash-ins we have ever seen. Bravo WWE!
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
It is here we find out that Kofi is going to represent the New Day in the MITB match. I enjoyed this match. Nothing special, nothing we have not seen one thousand times. You have to give credit to all these men though for putting their bodies on the line during this match. Especially Kevin Owens, who took a fall off of a 20 foot ladder onto a table thanks to Braun Strowman. Just like the women, all the men were given their chance to shine and they all took advantage of it. Nothing really to complain or nag about. It was a good match with a good ending. Braun gets the win and is the new Mr. Money in the Bank. I was surprised to see Braun win here. I was for sure Kevin Owens or The Miz was going to take this with Braun winning the Royal Rumble. I am not mad at all at the decision for Braun to take the contract. The more I think about it, the more I like this decision. Braun won’t cash in like your typical cash ins, I have a feeling he will either go face to face with Brock and tell Brock he is using his contract or get on the mic one Monday night and call out Brock and tell him he wants him now! Either way I am looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Chris King: The Wyatt Sicks’ Wasted Potential By WWE
Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.
Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.
It’s that time of the year again, folks; it’s unfortunate and downright awful that so many WWE superstars got released today. I’m not going to list all of them, but I am going to talk about one of my favorite factions,
The Wyatt Sicks. Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erik Rowan, and Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy) were something special. After Bo’s brother Bray Wyatt’s tragic passing, WWE felt like there was a hole that needed to be filled. Wyatt was one of the most creative and brilliant characters, and Bo would be taking over his brother’s concept and bringing it to life. In 2024, at the end of an incredible documentary highlighting Wyatt’s career and struggles, Bo appeared on the screen portrayed as Uncle Howdy. The last time Uncle Howdy was seen on-screen was at the 2023 Royal Rumble, where Wyatt defeated LA Knight in a Pitch Black Match. Howdy jumped off a structure onto Knight.
This post-credit scene sparked so much speculation and excitement that Wyatt’s brother would carry on his legacy and possibly debut the faction that was Wyatt’s concept. On the June 17th episode of Monday Night Raw, The Wyatt Sicks made their dramatic debut ,destroying the backstage area as well as “murdering” Chad Gable. It was such an iconic arrival for Howdy as he made his menacing walk from the back into the audience who were chanting “Holy Shit.” The Sicks and American Made (Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers) battled for months, with The Sicks being victorious. On the September 9th episode of Raw, The Sicks defeated them, with Howdy getting the win with Sister Abigail.
The following year, The Sicks would move over to Friday Night SmackDown, and it seemed like WWE had a plan in place. They would win the tag team championships from The Street Profits and start to look dominant. Now, what should have happened next is Howdy should have won the United States title. The Sicks could have held all the gold over on the blue brand, but it never happened. The Sicks entered into a never-ending feud with The MFT’s (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga.) It started off exciting, and the WWE Universe was red-hot for their interactions.
After months of repetitive matches and The MFT’s stealing their lantern, the feud grew tiresome and boring. Even Tama asked Solo why they are still holding onto the lantern, as it was destroying them as a whole. Finally on the SmackDown before Mania, Tama
gave the lantern back to Howdy against Solo’s wishes. Please explain to me why both factions fought almost every single week instead of just having one final blowoff match at WrestleMania.
It should have been either a massive street fight or a falls count anywhere match on the grandest stage of them all. Instead, it turned into a meaningless week-after-week extravaganza that benefited no one. The MFTs won the rivalry, and The Sicks don’t even work for WWE anymore. This was the same criminalized creative process that Wyatt dealt with during his first run in the company.
We’ll never know how much of a dangerous force The Wyatt Sicks could have been in the WWE. For all their careers’ sake, I hope they stay far away from the company for as long as possible. Every superstar that was cut deserves better!

Chris King: Bloodline Saga: Is This the Right Call For WWE?
Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns
Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns is once again World Heavyweight Champion after his dominant win over CM Punk at WrestleMania 42. On the following night on Monday Night Raw, The OG Bloodline came back together as a well-oiled machine as The Usos stood side by side with Roman. With the WWE Universe asking who would be the first to challenge “The Tribal Chief,” Jacob Fatu shocked the world by answering the call.
Fatu is running hot after his impressive win over Drew McIntyre and feels like he is ready to become the new world champion. This bloodline segment ended Raw, and it picked right back up on SmackDown with even Solo Sikoa and the MFTs involved. This is now two shows that have been centered around The Bloodline saga, and it’s made me question whether or not WWE should be retelling this story.
The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa) ran WWE for over four years as Reigns’ henchmen, doing his dirty work to retain his title. Even though Roman has declared he doesn’t want Jey and Jimmy to serve him, it sure seems like WWE are spinning their wheels. Fatu could add a whole new chapter into the story, even if he’s not able to beat Roman at Backlash. “The Samoan Werewolf” could be forced to do the same thing as Jey did all those years ago and fall in line.
In my opinion, I feel like Fatu should be challenging for the Undisputed WWE Championship because that’s a title I feel like he should win. I understand standing up to your blood and trying to prove you’re the best, but I don’t think this is the right move. It feels like 2022 all over again, as The Bloodline is the central focus on both shows. If Fatu doesn’t win, what happens to all his momentum he’s been building over the last two years?
Why did WWE make this the best choice for storyline purposes? Why couldn’t creative have come up with a different challenger for Roman? There are so many other superstars that could challenge The Tribal Chief, such as Rusev, Bron Breakker, Gunther, or even a returning Sheamus.
I just can’t help but question WWE’s logic here, and it kind of reminds me of all the times The Shield reunited. Could WWE be pushing the same storyline too many times here? Could the WWE Universe get tired of this rinse and repeat cycle of The Bloodline Saga?
Are we about to see all the weekly episodes solely focused on The Bloodline again? Will it be cinema… Yes. Is there still money in The Bloodline… Yes. Was it the right call? That’s to be determined!
