This week’s edition of Impact Wrestling was a special episode entitled “Under Pressure”, highlighted by two title matches. Allie faced off against Su Yung in a Last Rites Match for the Impact Knockouts Championship and Pentagon Jr. faced off against Austin Aries for the Impact World Championship. Both titles did change hands.

This week’s Impact Wrestling brought in 283,000 viewers which is up from last week’s 263,000 viewers. It also ranked #107 on the cable top 150 while last week’s episode ranked #109.

Once again, Impact Wrestling dealt with some heavy hitters in terms of viewership competition. In the 18-49 demographic, Game 1 of Cavs vs. Warriors in the NBA Finals (which the Warriors won in overtime) brought in 17.4 million viewers. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation came out on top in the 18-49 demographic on cable with a 1.2 rating which is two-tenths up from last weeks rating of 1.0.

Here is the viewership rundown for the month of May:

May 3rd Episode: 299,000 viewers
May 10th Episode: 295,000 viewers
May 17th Episode: 326,000 viewers
May 24th Episode: 263,000 viewers
May 31st Episode: 283,000 viewers (Under Pressure episode)

Ja’ Von’s Take: This is really good news for Impact Wrestling. Last week Impact saw the show’s lowest viewership since their February 22nd episode but this week they bounce back a bit. Impact tends to do well in viewership when they don’t have major competition like the NBA. This week they were up against Game one of the Cavs vs. Warriors, but ended up doing well in viewership which goes to show that when two titles are on the line with compelling storylines attached to the match that Impact can hold their own a bit. After what transpired this week on the “Under Pressure” special, I can see either an increase in viewers or a steady hold for the fallout.
