UFC News: Ronda Rousey To Be Inducted Into UFC Hall Of Fame

Last night’s UFC 225 pay-per-view from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois had the attention of the wrestling world as former WWE Superstar CM Punk was set to enter the octagon for his second UFC bout, however there was other wrestling-related news coming out of the event.

During the broadcast, a video package was played as the UFC announced that WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey will be entering the UFC Hall Of Fame’s Modern Wing in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 5th during the UFC Fan Expo at International Fight Week. Rousey first made noise in the Strikeforce promotion before heading to the UFC with an undefeated record in 2012, the first female fighter to ever sign with UFC. She would also be named the first-ever UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Over the next three years, ‘Rowdy’ Ronda would run through the competition and become one of the faces of UFC while also becoming arguably the biggest star in the company’s history. Ronda would suffer her first loss on November 15th, 2015 to Holly Holm, one of the biggest upsets in MMA history. She would return over a year later to challenge then-titleholder Amanda Nunes, but came up short again, suffering her second loss in a row. The bout would turn out to be her final fight before heading to the WWE in January 2018, leaving her with an overall MMA record of 12-2 in her career.
