WWE News: RAW Viewership Increases After Last Week’s Historically Bad Performance
Last week’s Memorial Day edition of WWE’s flagship program, Monday Night RAW, saw an epically bad performance in viewership which turned out to be the second-lowest in the show’s history (you can find that story here). The numbers for last night’s episode from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas are in and while they’re going in the right direction, it’s not a dramatic increase.
Following last week’s 2.494, last night’s RAW pulled in a 2.526, good for only a 1.2% increase and the second-lowest viewership since December 11th, 2017 (2.685). However, it was still good enough to rank Monday Night RAW at number two for the night in the 18-49 demographic on cable, while the 8PM, 9PM and 10PM hours comprised three out of the top five. The number one spot went to Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and Basketball Wives occupied the number four position.
Here are the numbers for May leading into last night’s first June episode of RAW:
- May 7th: 2.689
- May 14th: 2.741
- May 21st: 2.669
- May 28th: 2.495
- June 4th: 2.526

EA’s Take: I think if you want to press the panic button now, then I wouldn’t blame you. I’ve trumpeted that this is the time of year when viewership takes a hit and for that reason I expected it to pick back up some when we got closer to Money In The Bank and away from stiff competition. Last week was a holiday and they were up against the NBA Playoffs, whereas that wasn’t the case this week. So unless there was some major, “can’t miss” storyline on Love & Hip Hop, I kind of chuckle seeing that they beat RAW. I wouldn’t blame anyone for tuning out though after seeing the poor effort we were given. There wasn’t a single memorable or meaningful moment last night.
