WWE News: SmackDown Live Viewership Hits Lowest Since Halloween (6/5/18)
Last week’s edition of WWE’s SmackDown Live managed to hold steady in the ratings (which you can read here) following Monday Night RAW raking in its second lowest viewership in the program’s history just the night before (check that out here).
This week’s edition of RAW was able to start heading back in the right direction, albeit slightly (you can find that story here), however the same can not be said for last night’s episode of the blue brand as it saw a slight decrease. Last week, SmackDown Live was able to duplicate the 2.195 it garnered the week prior, but last night the show only brought in a 2.138, which is a 2.6% decline. This is also the lowest viewership for SmackDown Live since the Halloween edition on October 31st of last year.
It’s not all negative though, as the 2.138 was still good enough to rank SmackDown Live as the top watched program in the 18-49 category on cable, beating out another USA Network show in Chrisley Knows Best, as well as the TBS comedy The Last O.G. starring Tracy Morgan. Last week, the blue brand was outdrawn by a number of political commentary based programming, but still came in at number one in the 18-49 demographic.
Below are the viewership numbers for SmackDown Live from May into the start of June:
- May 1st: 2.436
- May 8th: 2.293
- May 15th: 2.298
- May 22nd: 2.195
- May 29th: 2.195
- June 6th: 2.138

EA’s Take: All the numbers this week are screwy! RAW, which I found to be a bad show (and worse than last week) was able to see a slight increase, yet their YouTube numbers were pretty low across the board. So SmackDown Live puts on what I feel to be a much better program, yet the viewership goes down? Some broadcast network shows pulled in big numbers, but it’s not like the NBA Finals were on like RAW faced last week. The only logical explanation is the annual post-WrestleMania lull. I’m not really sure what else you can put this on!
