Here’s an interesting story that has come to light today, but has nothing to do with the WWE in-ring/on-screen product.

The Huffington Post reported last night that infamous Twitter personality @AmyMek, who is notorious for being very far right politically, going way over the line in the eyes of some, especially when it comes to Islam. She has now been ousted after THP did some investigating as Amy Mekelburg. So what does this have to do with WWE? Turns out she is the wife of Sal Siino, the Senior Vice President of Global Content Distribution and Business Development. At least he was anyways.

The Huffington Post reached out to WWE and brought it to their attention, receiving the following comment:

“This is the first time we’re hearing about Amy Mekelburg.”

They would again reach out to WWE last Friday and it now looks like Mekelburg has cost Siino his job:

“No, now that it has come to our attention, Sal Siino is no longer an employee.”

Additionally, THP is stating that Mekelburg has contacted them with the name of her attorney, however THP reached out to said attorney who claimed he did not represent her.

EA’s Take: I’m certainly not going to get political because that’s not what we’re all about here at The Chairshot, so whether you agree with this woman’s opinions or not is really irrelevant. WWE was essentially handcuffed considering the big agreement that they made this year to bring events to the Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, the husband seems like just an “innocent bystander” in this situation, a “casualty of war” if you will. It also appears that the reporter who broke this for The Huffington Post is getting a lot of threats via Twitter, which is no surprise.
