If you missed it, last month it was reported that WWE Superstar and current United States Champion Jeff Hardy was injured while making his entrance for a dark match following SmackDown Live back in mid-May (which you can find here). ‘The Charismatic Enigma’ didn’t miss any ring time however and was back in action rather quickly (check that out here). It was later said that Hardy was also working through a pinched nerve, causing numbness in his fingers (you can read about that here).

While Jeff has still yet to miss any time due to the injuries, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Hardy’s still working through the ailments. Additionally, it’s being said that WWE is protecting him at Live Events by putting him in Fatal 4-Way matches in an effort to keep him on the card, but give him less work. At this time, it’s not known if the United States Champion will eventually need time off to recuperate.

EA’s Take: We learned that Hardy’s been dealing with the knee issue for some time now and he was not actually injured while making his entrance for the previously mentioned dark match. I still find it hard to believe the pinched nerve stuff though because those sorts of injuries generally mean it’s something fairly serious. Just like Homey D. Clown, WWE don’t play that and while SmackDown Live is in need of some bodies while AJ Styles is currently on a light schedule, I don’t see why WWE would toy around with something of that nature. Plus, WWE wants Jeff to have some lighter work so they put him in two matches on this week’s SmackDown Live? As Johnnie Cochran says on South Park with his Wookie Defense, “It doesn’t make sense”.
