WWE Rumors: WWE Claims Heyman Tweets Due To Contract Issue With Brock Lesnar

In case you missed it, last week on WWE Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announced that at Extreme Rules on July 15th there will be a 6-Man Match to determine the next challenger for Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. We haven’t seen ‘The Beast Incarnate’ since his last title defense at the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27th, but it’s been long believed that his next match will take place at SummerSlam on August 19th where he likely will be dropping the title amidst speculation that he’s looking to head back to the UFC. With Brock’s future in WWE up in the air, many members of the WWE Universe are ready for a new champion to be crowned as Lesnar has held the title since WrestleMania 33.

Brock’s advocate, Paul Heyman, addressed Angle’s announcement on Twitter over the weekend:

Today, WWE is reporting that Heyman’s comments are a result of “a lack of confidence in WWE management in finding a suitable opponent” and that negotiations between the sides are “completely stalled”, which you can check out in the video above.

EA’s Take: For my opinion of this, I refer you to that terrible Rihanna song where she repeats the word “work” a thousand times (and yes, I’m aware that’s the title of the track as well). It’s just storyline and I don’t think you can really read into it one way or another when it comes to Brock’s WWE future. If there was a legitimate issue between WWE and Brock when it comes to a contract, I find it incredibly hard to believe they would be so public about it if they want to keep the guy around. That’s a great way to just push him out the door.
