Extreme Rules Results: Finn Balor vs. Baron Corbin

In a match that really became personal on social media, the second bout at tonight’s Extreme Rules was singles action between Finn Balor and RAW’s Constable, Baron Corbin. ‘The Lone Wolf’ has consistently needled Finn on Twitter over his size and the way he got to WWE, claiming he never needed to travel the world to make it to the biggest wrestling company on the planet. Meanwhile, Balor has fired back at Corbin with shots at everything from his lack of success to failing on a Money In The Bank cash-in.

Baron used that size advantage that he spoke of to keep Finn grounded, battering the former Universal Champion into the canvas with a barrage of heavy strikes. The pace was slow and methodical, certainly favoring Constable Corbin, however Finn would finally start utilizing his speed and get in position for the Coup De Grace. Unfortunately, Baron would see it coming and almost put him away with a chokeslam backbreaker. Later on, Balor would miss out n another attempted Coup De Grace, but in the end he would instead use a simple small package to steal a 3 count.
