IMPACT News: Rich Swann Injured At Last Night’s MLW Battle Riot

As has been noted, last night Major League Wrestling was in Queens, New York for their big Battle Riot event which was taped and will air as a special on beIN Sports. The loaded card saw the new generation of The Hart Foundation, one of the greatest factions/tag teams of all-time, as Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr. with Brian Pillman Jr. in their corner take on the duo of ACH and IMPACT Wrestling’s Rich Swann.

It was a mix of nostalgia and athleticism for fans in attendance, however one of the participants didn’t walk away from the match unscathed. PWInsider is reporting that Swann, the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, was sent to the hospital following the contest with what’s thought to be a bad concussion suffered in the late stages of the match. Swann, who debuted for IMPACT Wrestling back on June 20th, is scheduled to compete this Sunday at the company’s Slammiversary pay-per-view from Toronto, Ontario, Canada in a Fatal 4-Way against Johnny Impact, Rey Fenix and ‘Bone Soldier’ Taiji Ishimori.

At this time, Swann’s injury has yet to be confirmed, however PWInsider notes that IMPACT Wrestling is aware of the Swann’s injury and are currently working on a replacement for Slammiversary if/when it’s learned whether or not he can still wrestle.
