More Indication That Matt Riddle Could Be Headed To WWE

Earlier today, rumors began swirling that top independent star Matt Riddle could be on the verge of making the move to the WWE (find that here), as The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the company, who had reportedly not been open to signing him over his affinity for using marijuana, had now changed their position.

Riddle had been scheduled to compete for Over The Top Wrestling in Ireland on August 18th and 19th, but was removed from those bookings and replaced by New Japan Pro Wrestling’s current IWGP United States Champion Juice Robinson. Of course, those dates are the same as NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and SummerSlam, leading many to believe he could be appearing for WWE, likely sitting in the crowd as they’ve done in the past with the likes of Bobby Roode and more recently, Keith Lee.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has now announced that Riddle is no longer booked for their Battle Of Los Angeles shows from September 14th-September 16th, giving even more indication that he could be signing with WWE:

Matthew Riddle will no longer be a participant in the 2018 Battle of Los Angeles. Trevor Lee has now entered the tournament in his place!

It should be noted that The Wrestling Observer is also saying New Japan Pro Wrestling has begun showing interest in Riddle as well. Of course at this time, nothing has been confirmed.
