WWE News: Fandango Injury Confirmed, To Undergo Surgery

WWE Superstar Fandango had the WWE Universe talking today after a Twitter post that indicated he would be off of television for six months. No details had been revealed, but it was strongly believed that this meant one-half of Breezango had suffered an injury of some sort (check out the story here).

Fandango received well wishes from a number of fans, as well as WWE’s Brian James, which further indicated an injury, however it has now been confirmed. WWE has just announced that Fandango has suffered a shoulder injury, more specifically a tear of the left labrum, which will require him to undergo surgery this Tuesday and miss up to six months of action. It’s not known when the injury specifically occurred, but it is also an injury that can be worked through to an extent, depending on the severity.

The labrum is a rim of cartilage that stabilizes the shoulder joint. It’s most often injured due to repetitive motions caused by sports such as baseball, swimming and football. Labrum tears have become a fairly common injury in professional wrestling as well, as they also occur due to shoulder dislocations or repeated blows to the area.
