Sunday night’s Extreme Rules brought back memories of WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley’s infamous Hell In A Cell ’98 fall, as RAW’s Kevin Owens and ‘Mr. Monster In The Bank’ Braun Strowman looked to settle their beef in a Steel Cage match. For weeks, Owens had tried avoiding ‘The Monster Among Men’ and although he picked up the victory in the match, it was only on a technicality.

The finish of the match of course came when Strowman chased ‘The Prize Fighter to the top of the cage, then unceremoniously pushed him off from a standing position. KO crashed down through an announce table to the floor in one of the crazier bumps seen on WWE television since another match Owens was involved with last year, a Hell In A Cell match against Shane McMahon.

After the fall, WWE issued the following injury update on ‘The Prize Fighter’, which we also heard some of last night on RAW:

After a 20-foot descent through an announce table during his Steel Cage Match against Braun Strowman at WWE Extreme Rules, Kevin Owens sustained multiple injures, including bruising of the shoulder and back, bruised ribs and a neck strain. He will be re-evaluated later in the week. 

The injuries occurred during the final moments of the match, when Strowman hurled Owens from atop the cage, sending him through an announce table at ringside, technically winning the match by leaving the structure first. Owens was then rushed to a local medical facility for evaluation.

According to PWInsider, this is all just storyline and while Owens is likely pretty sore from the bump, it appears he will be just fine. Additionally, KO is still scheduled for RAW Live Events this weekend in Kentucky, however cards are always subject to change.
