WWE News: SmackDown Live Event Results From Reading, PA (7/16/18)

On the eve of tonight’s post-Extreme Rules episode of WWE’s SmackDown Live in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the Superstars of the blue brand followed up Sunday’s pay-per-view last night with a Live Event in nearby Reading.

Despite Jeff Hardy being advertised to get a rematch for the United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura tonight, fans in attendance saw him get an opportunity last night in a Fatal 4-Way. Plus, NXT’s Nikki Cross was back in action in a 6-Woman Tag, the SmackDown Women’s Title was on the line as Naomi challenged Carmella and WWE Champion AJ Styles teamed with Daniel Bryan in the main event. Below are the results:

• United States Title Fatal 4-Way: Shinsuke Nakamura retained over Jeff Hardy, Rusev & Shelton Benjamin
• Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas defeated Sin Cara
• Asuka, Becky Lynch & Nikki Cross defeated Lana, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville
• 6-Man Tag: The New Day defeated SAnitY
• SmackDown Tag Team Title Triple Threat: The Bludgeon Brothers retained over The Bar & The Usos
• SmackDown Women’s Title: Carmella retained over Naomi
• AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan defeated The Miz & Samoa Joe
