WWE News: WWE Interested In Signing Former Lucha Underground Star

With the WWE signing and having interest in so many top stars across the independent scene, there are no signs of the company slowing down when it comes to bringing in outside talent. Recently, the most talked about of these performers is Matt Riddle, who is speculated to possibly debut with the company over SummerSlam weekend in August (check that out here).

Previously, Lucha Underground’s Angelico announced his departure from the promotion back in April (find that here), leading to speculation that he could be among the many performers to make the jump to the WWE as it’s been no secret that there’s been on-again, off-again interest on the company’s part. Of course with Angelico being signed to Lucha Underground, WWE’s hands had been tied.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has renewed interest in the 31-year old, 11-year veteran from South Africa as the company has been internally discussing bringing him in now that he is a free agent.

On top of his time with Lucha Underground, Angelico has also competed for AAA, Westside Xtreme Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and What Culture Pro Wrestling. He is a three-time AAA World Tag Team Champion alongside Jack Evans, as well as a two-time Lucha Underground Trios Champion with Son Of Havoc and Ivelisse Velez.
