WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar Now Reportedly Confirmed For SummerSlam

There has been so much “on again, off again” news surrounding current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and his future with the company, more specifically revolving around his status for SummerSlam on August 19th. We saw Lesnar at UFC 226 last Saturday and now that he’s re-entered the USADA testing pool, another bout in the octagon is in the cards for ‘The Beast Incarnate’ next year, which has done nothing but stoke the flames of speculation.

Last month, it was reported that Brock was no longer confirmed for SummerSlam, changing plans for Extreme Rules this Sunday which was originally scheduled to have a 6-Man #1 Contender’s match for Lesnar’s title. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, ‘The Conqueror’ is now once again confirmed for the August 19th event from the Barclays Center.

EA’s Take: Ugh…here we go with more of the obvious. If anyone has been reading our reports on Lesnar over the past month or so, you already know that Lesnar was never NOT confirmed for SummerSlam. I said from the beginning that this was likely a case of WWE feeding Meltzer info to advance their storylines and I think this just proves it. Check out my take on Lesnar not being confirmed for SummerSlam. Also, it was only TWO WEEKS AGO when Meltzer reported WWE was revisiting an old angle with Lesnar and Reigns that would see them face off at SummerSlam. So if he reported Brock would be there two weeks ago, why are we now “confirming” it? Basically, he just admitted that he’s been full of %*$@.
