We’ve continued to see the WWE cultivating working relationships with promotions outside of their umbrella, most notable Insane Championship Wrestling and PROGRESS in the United Kingdom, but the primary one here in the United States is with WWN Live’s EVOLVE. The companies have shared the stage at WWE WrestleMania Axxess and we’ve seen the likes of Adam Cole compete inside an EVOLVE ring while under a WWE contract. On top of this, WWE has signed EVOLVE stars past and presently with the likes of Drew Gulak, Tony Nese and more recently Keith Lee.

It’s been known now that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has gone back-and-forth over the past couple of years now regarding airing other promotions on the WWE Network, but it looks like he may be interested in doing more than that. According to The Wrestling Observer is reporting that there have been of a possible EVOLVE sale to WWE since the relationship began with WWN, however it’s still not known how far those talks have gone or how close to reaching a deal the sides could be.

EA’s Take: I think this is more of WWE just doing their homework on things when it comes to the Network. I, along with many other subscribers have all seen these emails where they ask about tiered pricing and such. I don’t think I’d be paying extra for independent wrestling myself. Personally, I’d prefer they not purchase EVOLVE at all because while I’m certainly no connoisseur on their product, I don’t want McMahon to own everything. Wrestling’s in too good of a place right now, overall. At the same time, everyone’s got a price for the Million Dollar McMahon. I’m pretty sure that’s how that saying goes.
