WWE News: Sami Zayn Goes Under The Knife For Second Shoulder Surgery
It has been a couple of months now since we last saw RAW Superstar Sami Zayn, last appearing on WWE programming back at Money In The Bank on June 17th in a decisive loss to Bobby Lashley. It was later revealed that ‘The Underdog from the Underground’ had been working through injuries, as he had undergone surgery to repair the rotator cuff in his right shoulder (read about that here). On top of that, Sami was also in need of surgery on his left shoulder, as it had been giving him issues from a previous procedure for an injury in 2015.
Today, Zayn took to Twitter to reveal that he was about to go under the knife for that second surgery, a bi-lateral rotator cuff procedure:
Who ever said bi-lateral rotator cuff surgery wasn't fun? I get to wear a gown! pic.twitter.com/VTLNvd2r1c

For those of you keeping score, this is now three shoulder surgeries in less than three years for the 34-year old, 16-year veteran. He is not expected to be back until early 2019, likely before WrestleMania 35 barring any setbacks.
EA’s Take: This injury I felt really came at a bad time. I never was a big Sami Zayn fan and found him to be fairly bland as a character. Sorry people, but it takes more than in-ring talent to become a Superstar. As much as people crapped all over his feud with Lashley, I felt like Sami was doing some of the better character work of his career (outside of his run with Kevin Owens as allies). I mean honestly, he carried that feud and I still contend that it wasn’t nearly as bad as others made it out to be. Hopefully when he returns, they don’t do something crazy and bring him back as that smiling, boring guy he was for the first couple of years on the main roster.
