WWE News: SmackDown Live Event Results From Greenville, North Carolina (8/11/18)

WWE’s SummerSlam draws closer and closer, next Sunday from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, but with this week’s WWE television being the go-home shows before the big event, first up were Live Events this weekend.

With the RAW Superstars in Norfolk, Virginia last night (find results here), the blue brand was on the road in Greenville, North Carolina as they head towards a town with the same name in South Carolina for Tuesday’s SmackDown Live. Last night’s card featured some early SummerSlam match-ups as WWE Champion AJ Styles was challenged by Samoa Joe in the main event, Shinsuke Nakamura defended the United States Title against Jeff Hardy, plus Rusev and Lana met Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and Zelina Vega. Below are the results:

• United States Title: Shinsuke Nakamura retained over Jeff Hardy
• SmackDown Women’s Title: Asuka defeated Carmella by DQ when The IIconics interfered
• Asuka, Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair defeated Carmella & The IIconics
• SmackDown Tag Titles: The Bludgeon Brothers retained over Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
• WWE Title: AJ Styles retained over Samoa Joe
