Following Sunday’s SummerSlam, Monday Night RAW saw a fairly significant boost in the ratings after a week that was (arguably) surprisingly low heading to one of the company’s bigger pay-per-views of the year. The same could be said for last week’s SmackDown Live, so did the blue brand turn it around for the post-SummerSlam show?

With the ratings in for last night’s episode, SmackDown Live ratings went back up to a 2.437, an increase of 11.3 % from last week. Here’s how the last four weeks of ratings for the blue brand boil down:

• July 31st: 2.401
• August 7th: 2.197
• August 14th: 2.189
• August 21st: 2.437

SmackDown Live also kept its stranglehold on the number one spot in the Cable Top 150 Rankings for the 18-49 demographic for the fourth consecutive week:

1. SmackDown Live – USA Network – 0.77
2. The Challenge: Final Reckoning – MTV – 0.53
3. *TIE* Below Deck Mediterranean/Miz & Mrs/Rachel Maddow Show – 0.50

EA’s Take: If you compare SmackDown Live’s numbers to that of Monday Night RAW’s every week, it’s not so good. However, the blue brand continues to crush it in the crucial 18-49 demographic and as we head into the Fall (which brings us the NFL regular season), they won’t be facing the same type of competition with Monday Night Football. So I don’t really see anything being able to knock SmackDown Live out of the number one spot for a while. I mean, MAYBE once the MLB Playoffs roll around, especially if there happens to be a World Series game on a Tuesday night, then their hold on that top position could change. Baseball certainly doesn’t have the following in that demographic that it used to though, so it’s not as sure of a thing in my mind.
