WWE News: The Latest On Dean Ambrose’s Return From Injury
Many fans have been waiting very eagerly for the return of WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose, as it has been roughly eight months now since undergoing surgery to repair a torn triceps last December. There have been multiple reports regarding the recovery of ‘The Lunatic Fringe’ and back around WrestleMania time, it was speculated that perhaps Ambrose had some kind of setback during his rehabilitation (check that out here).
It’s also been reported that Dean had essentially moved himself to Birmingham, Alabama (home base of WWE’s surgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Dugas) in an effort to try and get himself back in the ring quicker. More recently, it was reported that Ambrose had been at the WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando (read about that here), which is usually the final step for an injured Superstar before gaining clearance to return.
Today, PWInsider is reporting after confirmation with multiple sources that the expectation is for Ambrose to be back within the next month. Additionally, PWInsider was told by one source that Dean will be at SummerSlam in Brooklyn on August 19th and will be back in storylines around that time, but it’s not known if he will actually be appearing at SummerSlam.
EA’s Take: This will make many people happy, including some right here at The Chairshot. I, for one, am not necessarily one of those people. I need to see a fresh, recharged Dean Ambrose with something new. I can’t tell you how over him I was before he got hurt, he was so stagnant and stale to me. I still say coming back as a heel would be the best thing for him because that was always what he was best at. Do I think he NEEDS to come back as a heel? Not specifically, but he just needs to be different. Change something up.
