It has been nearly a year now since Neville, real name Benjamin Satterly, quit the WWE, walking out on the October 9th, 2017 edition of Monday Night RAW after reportedly being unhappy with his position in the company for a while. ‘The King Of The Cruiserweights’ had become the face of 205 Live, but reports surfaced that being booked to lose a match against now-former WWE Superstar Enzo Amore was the final straw.

It was later said that discussions between WWE and Neville had been opened back up with the possibility of him returning, however that of course never came to fruition. Since walking out, his contract has been frozen, leaving Neville unable to work for any other companies while he continued trying to garner his release. Earlier this year, it was reported that Neville had even gone as far as to move back to his home country of England (read about that here).

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Neville has now officially been given his WWE release, however very little details were provided, therefore it’s not known when that reportedly took place or if he is under a 90-day no compete clause. At this time, Neville’s release has not been confirmed by WWE or any other outlets and his profile remains on WWE.com.

EA’s Take: I can neither confirm nor deny this story, but it is weird that his profile is still on WWE.com. Also, ProWrestlingSheet says they got this information from a source “close to the situation”, however they provided no other info. If the source is close enough to the situation to know he’s been released, why wouldn’t they at least know when it took place? Personally, I’m waiting to see something more concrete on this.
