WWE Superstar Glenn Jacobs Wins Election To Become Mayor Of Knox County

The long saga for WWE Superstar Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs has come to an end tonight with his bid to become Mayor of Knox County Tennessee has ended with a victory for the Republican Candidate.

With today’s election now coming to a close, Jacobs has been declared the winner according to WATE-ABC with an early vote percentage of 67, with the early and absentee voting giving him 2/1 margin over his competition and Democratic Candidate Linda Haney.

Jacobs announced his intentions to run for the Mayoral seat in March 2017. Previously, Jacobs had been thought to be an underdog to win the Republican Primary back in May, but squeaked by with 23 votes making up the difference. He was then thought to be the favorite to win the Mayoral Election.

Kane last appeared on WWE television at Extreme Rules on July 15th in a match with Daniel Bryan against The Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. That same night, an injury angle was run with the champions ambushing Kane backstage, leading to him barely participating in the match. It was later revealed that he was suffering from a legitimate foot injury (check that out here).
