Drew or Dean: Who Will Turn First?

The Shield vs The Dogs of War is one of the biggest feuds on RAW. On one side, the trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose proving that they’re the most dominant force in WWE. On the other side, there’s the newly formed team of Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre are looking to destroy The Shield.

This past Monday, the feud between the two stables heated up. The Dogs of War tried to create tension in The Shield by telling Dean Ambrose that Rollins and Reigns were holding him back. Throughout the course of the night, the trio tried to persuade Ambrose that he deserves better and that he should join their team.

Not to be outdone, The Shield played mind games of their own with The Dogs of War. In a backstage segment, Rollins was planting seeds of doubt into Drew McIntyre’s mind. Rollins told McIntyre he’s the real star of The Dogs of War and that Ziggler is holding him back from being a main eventer.

It’s obvious WWE is going to do an eventual turn with Ambrose going heel and McIntyre becoming a face.

But who will turn first and when?

On RAW, it was foreshadowed that Dean Ambrose was going to turn heel. Based on his reaction inside the ring and backstage, it’s only a matter of time before Ambrose turns his back on his brothers. Many are speculating that it could happen as early as Super Showdown or possibly Survivor Series to coincide with the anniversary of The Shield’s debut.

As for Drew McIntyre, WWE is grooming him to become their next big star. The rumored plans are for him to turn on Dolph and become a babyface. McIntyre has shown he’s got the potential to become a main event star and his storyline with Dolph has been amazing, but eventually their pairing is going to come to an end.

With the Super Showdown coming up next week, fans are speculating that one of the men could turn at the PPV. While it would be a good time for WWE to pull the trigger on a heel or babyface turn, I don’t see it happening that soon.

Instead the WWE will prolong Ambrose and McIntyre’s turns to continue the feud between The Shield and The Dogs of War.

At Survivor Series, that’s where we’ll see one of the men turn. But it won’t be Ambrose like many fans are predicting.

Since The Shield just got back together, WWE isn’t going to be splitting them up anytime soon. As for The Dogs of War, they’re probably going to have a short run. So around Survivor Series, I can see them planting seeds for the trio to disband with Drew turning his back on Dolph and setting up their feud, while Braun moves on to another opponent.

As for Dean Ambrose, his heel turn won’t happen until 2019, possibly at Royal Rumble. With the plans being a triple threat for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 35, this would be the perfect time for Ambrose to unleash his vicious side and get back into the championship picture by betraying his brothers.
