Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix Will Not Be Going To WWE Anytime Soon, Their 2019 Plans

Over recent weeks, there has been loads of speculation surrounding the futures of Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix, something that was fed by one of their employers.

One tweet by Major League Wrestling recently fueled the flames of rumors regarding The Lucha Brothers looking to jump to WWE in 2019 (check that out here), but it was later reported the promotion was simply going to be using the speculation in their storylines (find that here). Then, a new report came out suggesting that the duo was staying with MLW through 2019, meaning they would not be WWE-bound (read that here). We now have confirmation today that WWE or NXT are not in the immediate futures of Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix.

According to PWInsider, who has confirmed the information, the brothers are both still under contract with Lucha Underground until 2020 as they have No Compete clauses. So while it sounds simple, there is a little more to it. Should Lucha Underground be picked up for a fifth season, The Lucha Brothers will be a part of it. Should there not be a fifth season for some reason, yet the possibility of the show being picked up by another network remained, they still would not be able to get out of their No Competes.

Additionally, it has also been confirmed that Pentagon and Fenix were in negotiations with IMPACT Wrestling when the company traveled to Mexico City last week for television tapings. It’s being said that with the help of Konnan, the brothers were seeking dates for 2019 that would see them both get raises from IMPACT.
