5. The Impostor Storyline

Sadly Kane wouldn’t escape terrible storylines for long. In the Spring of 2006 Kane started hearing voices taunting him about the date May 19th and said soon everyone would know what happened. Two things happened on May 19th: In kayfabe it was when his parents were killed in a fire but in reality it was the release date of See No Evil staring Kane.

This lead to an impostor in Kane’s old gear and mask appearing to attack Kane. They hinted that it was someone from Kane’s past but it never went further than a terrible match at Vengeance. Rumour has it Glen Jacobs was considering retirment and it would be revealed that imposter was actually the real Kane.

Thankfully they didn’t go with that.

4. Winning the World Title

In 2010 Kane finally got another world title run when he cashed in his money the back briefcase to win the world heavyweight championship. He cashed in less than an hour after winning it the shortest amount of time between winning and cash in. At least he’s still got that record for now.

The reign wasn’t the best, but it was long of overdue given everything the company had put Kane through. Fair to say I was so happy when I first saw this moment.

3. Return with the Mask

Years after the iconic moment of his unmasking WWE made the decision to put Kane’s mask on. He returned in the mask in December 2011 to begin a terrible feud with John Cena. Trying to get him to embrace the hate. Cena didn’t further annoying fans that were desperately wanted to see him turn heel.

Instead of putting on his old mask he put on some weird new mask that had a wig attached to it. The reason given was to allow him to become the monster he once was. He was simply used to kill Zack Ryder and give Cena something to do until The Rock came back.
