It’s been a few weeks now since we learned that Rey Mysterio and WWE had seemingly, finally come to an agreement on a new contract with the company after the multi-time World Champion has been speculated to do so for the majority of the year. Of course, Rey made appearances at the Royal Rumble in January and then again at the Greatest Royal Rumble back in April.

Three weeks ago, Northeast Wrestling announced Mysterio would be pulling out of their event August 24th due to his impending WWE obligations (find that here). This weekend, Rey obviously competed at All In however, plus for Warrior Wrestling the following day.

On the most recent edition of The Ross Report with WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross, Mysterio was the special guest and spoke about when he will actually be starting again with the WWE:

“We started off with an anonymous call in January, coming back for the Rumble which was a big surprise to a lot of the fans because every time I do signings they’re like, ‘Man, Rey. I did not expect to see you there’. So I guess that worked out very well and that just started the whole conversation about possibly making a return. We’re still in the mix of that, we’ve been going back-and-forth talking about possibly returning this month and then this month. So the longer it extends, the more I keep getting workouts in. That’s my bread and butter, that’s what I do for a living, so I’m just waiting for them to say, ‘Now’. They say, ‘Now’, if the time is right, let’s go.”
