Another Anoa’i Family Member Reveals Battle With Cancer

Two days later and the WWE Universe is still rocked after the announcement on Monday by Roman Reigns that he is once again dealing with leukemia and subsequently relinquished the Universal Championship.

Of course, Roman’s real name is Joe Anoa’i and he comes from the infamous Samoan family tree that has brought us the likes of Peter Maivia, The Wild Samoans, Umaga, The Rock, The Usos and a host of other Superstars. Following Reigns’ revelation this week, today we have learned he’s not the only member of the family battling a serious health issue.

Samu Anoa’i, competed alongside WWE Hall Of Famer Rikishi as The Samoan SWAT Team in WCW and The Headshrinkers in the WWF after getting his start in the early 1980’s. The former WWF Tag Team Champion took to Facebook today to reveal he is currently dealing with stage four liver cancer and is in need of a transplant:

I want to take a minute to address the situation with myself and that of my family.

I recently have posted I am selling shirts “Anoa’i Strong”

These shirts have been for sale for many years and in light of the current situation that has struck myself and my family, I have decided to change the shirts to various colors for cancer.
