The much talked about time when a number of top Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling stars become free agents is quickly approaching, as Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes are all set to reportedly receive big money offers from the WWE for their services (see the story here).

However, it looks like one of those men is a free agent much sooner than we originally thought as The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Cody’s deal with Ring Of Honor is actually expiring this month and his last obligations to the promotion are the Jericho Cruise, which begins today. Additionally, it’s being said that Cody is not expected to sign a new contract with ROH as his next move will come alongside The Young Bucks and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.

Now of course, Cody is currently scheduled for a number of ROH events moving forward like Global Wars and is currently one-third of the Six-Man Tag Team Champions with The Young Bucks. However, it’s also been noted that he plans on working with Ring Of Honor through January.

This all comes on the heels of the next move for all of the aforementioned stars continuously teased on YouTube’s Being The Elite. On top of that, there are still the rumors that Chris Jericho and Jim Ross are starting their own promotion which Cody and The Young Bucks are reportedly on board for (check that out here). Since then, Jericho himself has made light of the talk (see that here).

As for Cody’s status with New Japan Pro Wrestling seeing how he’s also the reigning IWGP United States Champion, The Observer is reporting that while there’s no deal with Cody, if it’s possible he would like to continue working with them.

EA’s Take: Honestly, the speculation about Jericho and Jim Ross starting a company has really thrown a wrinkle into this whole free agency situation with all of these guys. I don’t know what to believe anymore. Although, I can say that I think the chances of them going to the WWE are getting lesser and lesser. It just feels that way to me, but at the same time there’s no denying that it’s going to be VERY interesting over the next few months to follow this story. I expect a TON more rumors and possibly false reports regarding their landing spot.
