The Dean Ambrose Heel Turn Is A Success

After an emotional start to WWE Raw, Dean Ambrose provided a shocking turn at the end of the show. Many questions have yet to be answered as the company enters a new era without Roman Reigns.

This past Monday Night RAW episode was filled with a lot of emotion. The show opened with Roman Reigns stepping into the ring and announcing to a stunned crowd that he was battling leukemia. Support immediately poured in from fans and fellow superstars. As Roman left the ring after relinquishing the Universal Championship, he was greeted by his Shield brothers Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

Later in the evening, Dean and Seth would face off against Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler for the tag team championships. An interference from Braun Strowman would help secure a victory for Rollins and Ambrose. Afterwards, the two Shield brothers shared a hug as they celebrated their win. Then in a shocking turn of events, Ambrose brutally attacked Rollins, cementing his heel turn.

WWE has been foreshadowing an Ambrose heel turn for weeks. Yet, after Roman’s announcement, people were curious what would happen to Ambrose and Rollins. Would they scrape Ambrose’s heel turn and have the two men continue The Shield without their brother?

With WWE you’ve got to learn to expect the unexpected. When Dean Ambrose turned heel on Monday, it was totally unexpected. A moment will go down as one of the most shocking in WWE history.

The timing of Dean Ambrose’s heel turn has been met with mixed reactions. While some critics believe it was in bad taste, other feel that the time was right to pull the trigger on his heel turn.

If WWE wanted to make Ambrose the type of heel who gets massive heat from the crowd, then they succeeded in their plan.

In the current stage of wrestling, heels tend to get cheered more than the babyfaces. Just look at Becky Lynch as a recent example. Fans have been wanted Dean Ambrose to turn heel for a long time and when the time came, they would be cheering for the star. WWE didn’t want the same to happen to Dean, so they had to do something to make him a vicious heel.

On a night where the crowd was already overcome with emotions, seeing the destruction of Seth Rollins at the hands of Dean Ambrose was too much for the crowd. Camera shots captured the sad faces of the crowd as Rollins lay helpless as Ambrose rammed The Architect’s head into concrete, the leave through the crowd.

The amount of boos that filled the arena proved that Dean Ambrose’s heel turn was a success. The reaction is going to get even louder every time Ambrose appears onscreen.

The reason behind Dean attacking Seth is going to be a big storyline moving forward, viewers are going to be tuning in every week to see how their feud plays out. Ambrose and Rollins have amazing in-ring chemistry, which made their last feud a success. This time with the roles reversed, it’s going to be exciting.

While there’ll still be fans cheering a heel Dean, after his actions on RAW, you can’t help booing him.
