WWE News: John Cena Announced For World Cup At Crown Jewel, Kurt Angle Wins Spot

After D-Generation X opened up tonight’s edition of RAW by challenging The Undertaker and Kane at Crown Jewel (check that out here), we got more insight into the World Cup tournament which will also take place on Friday, November 2nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

We already knew that tomorrow night’s SmackDown Live would see two World Cup Qualifiers as Big Show returns to the ring for the first time in over a year to face ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton. Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy is back in action onthe blue brand for the first time since Hell In A Cell and will go one-on-one with Samoa Joe, who’s fresh off a loss to WWE Champion AJ Styles at Super Show-Down. Tonight on RAW, it was revealed that John Cena will also be participating in the World Cup and has received a bye, therefore he is the only Superstar who does not have to qualify:

Additionally, Acting RAW General Manager Baron Corbin presented a Global Battle Royal where the winner would move onto the World Cup at Crown Jewel. Corbin would make his way to the ring, which was filled with random “foreign” talents, including a Conquistador. The fix was in as Baron looked to easily cement his spot in the World Cup, but shocking The Conquistador would be the last man standing after surprising the Acting General Manager with German suplexes. Of course, this wasn’t any regular Conquistador as he revealed himself to be Kurt Angle:
