WWE News: New Universal Champion To Be Determined At Crown Jewel

We’ve got even more fallout from Roman Reigns’ huge announcement on tonight’s RAW that he is battling leukemia, therefore relinquishing the Universal Championship.

While the WWE Universe is still reeling from the news, it didn’t take long for an announcement regarding the status of the vacated Universal Title to be made. Of course, Reigns was scheduled to defend the title against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel in a Triple Threat. Now, the match will see a guaranteed new titleholder as ‘The Beast Incarnate’ goes one-on-one with ‘The Monster Among Men’:

EA’s Take: I think the immediate reaction is, Braun’s definitely winning. However, this is an opportunity for WWE to completely swerve us as well, so who knows at this point. Personally, I think the safe money is on Braun. While I think we all can agree the news about Roman just plain sucks, on the other side of the coin this will present an opportunity for someone new to step into that role.
