WWE News: RAW Rating Jumps Up, Climbs Top 5 Rankings (10/22/18)
Last week’s episodes of WWE’s Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live gave a welcome change when it comes to the ratings, as it was the first time in weeks that both shows saw an increase in viewership.
While RAW only saw a 2.3% increase last week, the numbers for last night’s episode are in and there’s a much bigger change as the red brand pulled in a 2.548 rating, a 6.3% jump. Here’s a look at the last four weeks of ratings for RAW:
- October 1st: 2.302
- October 8th: 2.373
- October 15th: 2.396
- October 22nd: 2.548
Monday Night RAW has been able to make its way back into the head of the class in the Cable Top 150 Rankings for the 18-49 demographic recently as well, getting back in the top five the last two weeks. This week, it’s another move upward as the show occupies two top five spots with the 10PM hour ranking seventh. Here’s the top five:
- Monday Night Football – ESPN – 3.45
- Monday Night Kickoff – ESPN – 1.29
- SportsCenter (12AM Hour) – ESPN – 1.10
- Monday Night RAW (9PM Hour) – USA Network – 0.95
- Monday Night RAW (8PM Hour) – USA Network – 0.92
EA’s Take: Things continue trending in the right direction for WWE’s ratings, as there’s a little less competition this week due to no MLB Playoffs (tough luck for SmackDown Live since the World Series starts tonight). I’ll continue to drive home the fact that ratings mean next to nothing these days. The one positive WWE has been able to take away from the weeks of struggles is the fact that they not only maintain their share of the key demographic, but bring in numbers that are strong in the overall picture. This could be a very positive sign for Evolution as well, since this was the go-home edition of RAW before the event.
