WWE News: Rey Mysterio’s Return Match For SmackDown 1000 Announced

With SmackDown Live on the air tonight, that means we’re exactly a week away from next Tuesday night’s big SmackDown 1000 episode.

The event is already loaded with names as The Undertaker, Evolution (Batista, Randy Orton, Ric Flair, Triple H) and Rey Mysterio will all be in the house. Additionally, names such as Kane, Edge, Vickie Guerrero, Teddy Long, Torrie Wilson and Michelle McCool have all either been advertised or reported to be appearing in some form or fashion.

Tonight, with qualifying matches for the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel on November 2nd taking place, it was revealed that Rey Mysterio will not only be appearing next week, but he will also be in action. Set for Mysterio’s return match, he will go one-on-one with United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a World Cup Qualifier. This marks the former World Champion’s first match back on WWE television since the Greatest Royal Rumble in April:
