Huge news kicked off tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW! After talk all day that Universal Champion Roman Reigns was suffering from an injury, it was later reported that ‘The Big Dog’ was fine as he was working out in the ring at the Dunkin Donuts Center prior to tonight’s show.

Reigns would then kickoff the broadcast with some shocking news, revealing that he has been living with leukemia and it has recently come back. Therefore, Roman said farewell to the WWE Universe for the time being and relinquished the Universal Championship in what will undoubtedly go down as one of the most emotional moments in WWE history:

Reigns would leave the title in the ring then take his leave, meeting his Shield brothers Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at the top of the stage:

EA’s Take: This is certainly a first time ever situation and holy cow…I am still completely shocked. This was completely out of left field and if you don’t feel for Roman, real name Joe, then there are no words to describe how terrible of a person you are. I’m already looking forward…just imagine how huge Reigns will be when he returns!
