WWE News: WWE Trying To Get The Rock For SmackDown 1000

While Super Show-Down is now only two days away, the gears never stop turning for the WWE and they’re already looking forward for multiple big events, including the 1000th episode of SmackDown on October 16th.

The company has been loading up on appearances to make the show similar to the 25th Anniversary of RAW back in January. To this point, a number of names are either set to appear or have been advertised such as The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, WWE Hall Of Famers Edge and Teddy Long, Vickie Guerrero, Torrie Wilson and Michelle McCool. Plus, Batista will be back for an Evolution reunion with Triple H, Randy Orton and ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. However, there remains debate over whether or not the man who coined the word “smackdown” will be there.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is in fact trying to secure The Rock for an appearance, but due to his filming schedule it’s not known if it will be possible. Currently, ‘The People’s Champion’ has been in London, England shooting his ‘Fast & Furious’ spin-off movie ‘Hobbs & Shaw’.

Although The Rock is also synonymous with the RAW brand, ‘The Great One’ was SmackDown’s first ever draft pick during the 2002 brand extension. Although, he has not been seen on the blue brand since the January 11, 2013 episode.
