WWE Rumors: Possible Spoiler On Rey Mysterio’s WWE Return

For those who have been waiting on Rey Mysterio’s WWE return, it’s likely been a painstakingly long process since his surprise return back at the Royal Rumble in January.

Now that the prolonged contract discussions have come to a close and both sides have agreed to terms (read more about that here), it’s just a matter of when he will show up at this point. Today, the WrestleVotes Twitter account, which has broken stories in the past, is speculating that Mysterio is likely to return at SmackDown 1000 on October 16th:

Regarding Rey Mysterio, some within the company wanted a “surprise pop” for the Australia stadium show coming up on Saturday, however I’m hearing his return is more likely to happen in 2 weeks at SmackDown 1000. Mysterio was a staple of SD in the early days. Makes sense.

Of course, Mysterio debuted as a member of the SmackDown roster and was on the blue brand for the majority of his last WWE run, winning multiple World Championships including his first back in 2006. He also had notable rivalries with Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, Kurt Angle and Randy Orton.

WWE Super Show-Down is live, this Saturday at 5AM EST on the WWE Network. SmackDown 1000 comes your way on Tuesday, October 16th at 8PM EST on the USA Network and will feature an Evolution reunion (read about that here) and reportedly WWE Hall Of Famer Edge (check that out here).
