WWE Rumors: Speculated Timetable For Kevin Owens’ Return

As was noted, WWE Superstar Kevin Owens made a rare post on Twitter yesterday to inform everyone he underwent surgery on both knees recently (check it out here).

Of course, we know that Owens was written off of television last week during and after a match against Bobby Lashley that saw Lashley turn heel, viciously attacking ‘The Prize Fighter’ at the knees. Early on, it was said that the hope was for Owens to only be out of the ring for a short period of time. However, it was later reported that a timetable for his return wouldn’t be known until the extent of the damage was discovered through the surgical procedure. At that time, it was then said KO could be on the shelf anywhere from 4-8 months.

On the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer is reporting that the expectation for Owens’ return now is late-February or early-March, which would be just in time for WrestleMania 35 on April 7th. Meltzer also noted that while the damage in the left knee of ‘The Prize Fighter’ was serious and more than the surgeon expected, neither knee needed a complete reconstruction. Therefore, that puts Owens out closer to the short end of the reported 4-8 month time frame.
