While many fans and even some of the Superstars aren’t very happy with their role at this Sunday’s first all women’s pay-per-view for the WWE, Evolution (see that story here), there’s no denying that the company is trying to get as many females as they can an opportunity to be involved.

One female who has publicly been at the forefront of this event is RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, however no role for her at Evolution has been defined at this point. With little question in a lot of fans’ minds about whether she will appear or not, some are wondering what she may be up to this Sunday. According to Bryan Alvarez on the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, a handful of video packages will be shown during the pay-per-view and reportedly Stephanie has done voiceover work for “a least” a couple of those.

Additionally, there has been speculation that Stephanie could be making an announcement of some sort during the show. While it should be reiterated that it’s purely speculation, there are some who believe Stephanie could reveal new Women’s Tag Team Championships at Evolution.

EA’s Take: In the name of all that is holy, can we PLEASE forget about the Women’s Tag Titles? I do not understand this mindset that somehow adding another set of championships is going to make the secondary women’s feuds on either show more important. Like, somehow if you were to give the Naomi and Asuka vs. The IIconics issue a championship it would miraculously make it more interesting/make the booking or writing better. How do you even make it work anyways? Do the champions work both brands? Does each brand get its own set. I’ve yet to have a conversation with anybody who likes this idea where they’ve been able to work out all the nuances. Think about folks, just because it would be “cool” doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. Not yet. If the women are going to have tag titles, they need their own show first. Bottom line.
